A rambling four bedroom Swansea property set in own grounds has been snapped up at auction.
The semi derelict house, at 17 Danygraig, in its own grounds in the hamlet of Pantteg, near Ystalyfera, Swansea, was listed with a guide price of £123,000-plus.
Requiring total top to bottom refurbishment the extended property sold for £140,000 at Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions, after attracting a total of 11 bids from five bidders.
A revamp could mean the distinctive pink bathroom, a feature on the first floor of the hillside house set in its own wooded grounds, could now be replaced.
Gemma Vaughan, of Paul Fosh Auctions, said: "There is no doubt that this could well become a distinctive and commanding house, once the considerable work needed to bring it back to its best including winning the battle about nature encroaching into various parts of the building, is completed.
"Works have started in places to strip back parts of this rambling and very interesting building. There's an ancient Aga which remains in the kitchen, a room which is flooded with sunlight through its French windows.
"The extended property, ideally located for access to the Brecon Beacons National Park, with good road links to the M4, Swansea, The Mumbles and Gower, could offer a number of uses, subject to any necessary consents.
